Inner Light Exhibition Workshop/Pictures That Matter. August 15-20, 2011, Lake Waikaremoana

One of the best and most satisfying ways of moving your work forward is to put a frame around it.  This workshop will suit people who are already competent photographers and/photographic artists, and who are looking to develop a personal voice, to produce a body of work that expresses the unique individual that they are.

We will journey together into the heart of the Ureweras to the beautiful and mysterious Lake Waikaremoana for six days, where each participant will develop a body of work, charting his or her response to the place, which will then be then later exhibited in a group show at Te Whare Toi (RAVE) in Rotorua.

The group will live and work together, each person focussing on what interests him or her.  A daily feature of each workshop will be sharing, critiquing and evaluating of work. Participants will be taught strategies such as the visual diary, reflection, analysis, direction, approach and selection, for exhibition and output.   A feature of the workshop will be lessons on art and art history to assist each participant in informing their own work. Considerable time will be available for personal tuition and mentoring.

The workshop is strictly limited to 10 participants.  Each applicant is asked to submit a portfolio of 10 images.

Participants will need to bring:

• Camera equipment including tripod
• Laptop with Lightroom and/or Photoshop
• Personal equipment (details will be supplied to successful applicants)
