Being in photography for any length of time means that each of us, sooner or later, will be forced to wade the shifting sands of composition. All of us will have been exposed to the so-called “rules” of composition, either through judging or through our own study. There are, in fact, gazillions of books on the subject. I had several ourselves, but somehow I have managed to successfully lend them to the sort of people who never give them back.
